National Biodiesel Board Unveils New Green Building

Sep. 15, 2008

On September 10, The National Biodiesel Board hosted a ribbon-cutting, tree planting and open house to celebrate the opening of its new headquarters in Jefferson City, Mo. Members of the Governing Board were on hand to help break in the new building. Governor Matt Blunt and U.S. Representative Kenny Hulshof spoke and lead the ribbon cutting. Mayor John Landwehr and members of the Jefferson City Chamber of Commerce were also present.

The National Biodiesel Board was founded in Jefferson City in 1993. In 2007, the advocacy group bought a building on the city’s regenerating East Side, and has completely renovated it from the ground up. The result is a state of the art office with exciting technological capabilities, such as worldwide video conferencing. The building has many eco-friendly features, including:

Carpet made from recycled materials
Nontoxic paint
Solar-powered outdoor lights
Automatic indoor lights
Energy Star appliances
High efficiency toilets
